Email received from a homeowner regarding the recently completed HomeLife inspection.
Dear Estridge,
I am writing to communicate my experience with this morning's 2 year home life inspection completed by Jay. I would particularly like for his supervisor to see this email and would appreciate it if you could forward it to the appropriate person.
As he was last year, Jay was right on time, polite, and prepared. If I could, I would award him the ABCD award (above and beyond the call of duty). Not only did Jay complete the walk-through and checks, but he noticed that I was having some trouble installing a ceiling fan. He didn't have to, but without any reservation at all, he climbed up my ladder, assessed the problem, went out to his truck and returned with a larger screw and his drill. Within a couple of minutes, he had resolved the issue and my project was ready for me to complete. Truly, he didn't have to do that at all, but I sure did appreciate it.
In addition, he communicated very clearly what items needed to be checked/repaired and scheduled a time for that to happen.
His professionalism is greatly appreciated and, as with our entire building process (our home construction supervisor was Brian), we couldn't be happier. Estridge has some valuable employees who, I sincerely hope, are commended for their work. It is one thing to be polite on a job site. It is another to actually listen to what a customer is saying and to respond in an appropriate manner. Your employees do that latter.
If I may make one recommendation on the email reminders you send out for the home inspections: in the email we received, it stated to allow for 4 hours for the inspection. Jay was done within one hour. Perhaps some inspections last 4 hours? Had I known he would be done within an hour (or even two), I could have better planned my errands for the morning. Just some feedback, for what it is worth.
Thanks so much for taking time to read this email.
