For many of our homebuyers their time spent in the Estridge Design Studio is one of the most memorable aspects of building their new home. This is when you’ll begin to see your home come to life: you’ll choose cabinetry, pick flooring styles, select a color palette, and so much more!
And while designing your home is exciting, we understand that the process might also make homebuyers feel a little anxiety as well. This is why we decided to put together a blog series that will help you prepare for your experience.
So, over the next few weeks on #DifferentbyDesign, we’re going to break down the process, giving insights that will help make the most of each stage. And today, we begin with what you can do to best prepare for your first Design Studio meeting:
Tip #1: Visit our decorated model homes
Take an afternoon to walk through our models with fresh eyes. Remember to notice both large design elements such as hardwood floors and cabinetry, as well as less obvious ones like faucets and light fixtures. Feel free to look and touch, and don’t forget to take pictures of elements you particularly like.
Tip #2: Find outside inspiration
If you’re anything like us, you already have a Pinterest board full of design ideas you love. Take some time to organize any pictures and bring those with you. Having visuals of what you’re looking for will help your consultant get a solid sense of your style.
Tip #3: Come with questions
Your consultant is always there to help advise you regarding what design choices and materials would be best for your home family, and lifestyle. For example, if you have pets and want recommendations on durable flooring, remember to bring that up during your meeting. We’re always happy to tap into our years of design experience to ensure your home is exactly how you want (and need) it.
Tip #4: Consider your existing style
Chances are you’ll want to utilize some of your current furniture and decor in your new home. Keep the look and feel of those pieces in mind and we’ll work together to make the design of your home cohesive with the decor you already love.
Tip #5 (our favorite!): Remember to have fun
Our team will assist you every step of the way to help make the experience fun and exciting. Take it all in from the very start!
